Japanese vase Meiji Period 1868-1912 Cloisonné enamel vase. Possibly made by Kumeno Teitaro although unsigned. The vase is manufactured in the style known as Ginbari enamel. The artist has applied a hammered and chiselled foil ground to the body, upon which he has fired translucent and coloured enamels literally bringing the fish to life. The craftsmanship on this beautiful vase is outstanding.
